Accepting certain vision plans by a provider (Doctor's office) can be a benefit and a risk to his/ (her) reputation in care and delivery of service to you our patient.
Some vision insurance companies may contract a private practice to provide services for their beneficiaries. However they may limit the service to providing exam and dispensing of the eyewear alone by using a third party laboratory to fabricate the doctor's prescription into eyeglasses.
It can be confusing to the beneficiaries (patients) that since the doctor's office collected their coinsurance payments in the office's name or they purchase their own frame from that office, that the doctor's office are fully responsible for making their eyeglasses and delivering on time.
On the contrary, the doctor's office has no control of the timetable of making the eyeglasses other than what is set forth in the insurance guidelines of 7- 10 business days for delivery and assurance that it is completed to the specification of the prescription before dispensing.
Unfortunately, in some cases the doctor's office becomes the scapegoat for the delays in delivery due to the insurance's contracted laboratory errors in production. All patients should be aware, that they have the option to contact their insurance company for relief regarding such delays and quality production of their eyeglasses. ealthy Eyes vision services apologizes to our patients who have experienced this and for their inconveniences. We will make every effort to continue to work with your insurance company on your behalf to better serve your needs within their guidelines.
For contact lens wearers--
Whether you are a previous wearer or a new contact lens patient, it is always necessary, that it begins with a routine examination followed by a contact lens evaluation for contact. These are two separate examinations and incurs two separate professional fees. Your eyeglass prescription is not valid for a contact lens prescription unless you are fitted for a contact lens successfully at the time of your visit and have had a progress evaluation(s).
We provide comprehensive eye examination and contact lens evaluation for every refractive circumstance. We do not take the care of your eyes lightly because the trust of your eye-care is our top priority. We make sure that your most precious gift of sight is given the treatment you deserve. You can be assured that your eye evaluation, your contact lens type and individualized fitting are all chosen for you to protect the health of your eyes for a lifetime not just for one visit. For that, we make sure our fees are fair and comparable to the local private practices and do not try to compete with the commercial practices because your eyes means more to us and ultimately to you.
